No one is coming. It is up to us.

Goodness must be dangerous.

To the extent that good men are weak, evil men are emboldened.

Make Ready was formed to answer one question:

“besides goodness, what is the most fundamental pillar of human flourishing?”

This page explores the answer to that question:

The most fundamental pillar of human flourishing is for good men to be dangerous.

Be dangerous. Do justly. Love mercy.

Certainly, the goal is to steward our capacity for danger so well that it serves as a deterrent to evil and is never used.

But when conflicts do arise, it is good men who must step in.

Evil always eventually runs into good men. Weak good men are tossed aside like children. Dangerous good men holdfast.

Eventually, every conflict is resolved by good men who are dangerous, but how long victory takes and at what cost it comes is up to us. Suffering is prolonged when good men do not possess the ability to step in.

When good men are weak, evil men fill that void with a corruption that eventually leads to tyranny. Where good men steward their ability to be dangerous, every good thing under the sun exponentially changes the world.

It is up to us to see that first; we become and raise good men. There-following, we must possess the unique ability to be thee bulwark against evil to the benefit of all.

The world has not seen its last tyrant. When tyranny comes again, we will only find reprieve in direct correlation to the ability of good men to respond.

Let us remember, the 2nd Amendment isn’t about hunting, it’s about overthrowing OUR government if need be. You may recognize these words:

- “We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.–That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed, –That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government, laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their Safety and Happiness… …But when a long train of abuses and usurpations, pursuing invariably the same Object evinces a design to reduce them under absolute Despotism, it is their right, it is their duty, to throw off such Government, and to provide new Guards for their future security. ”

If there is a time and a place for men to overthrow tyranny, than the time and the place to be ready is ever before us.
